Performing Arts

The performing arts department teaches a range of skills that are applicable to everyday life. It’s impossible to put on a concert, perform a play or carry out a dance routine without learning about teamwork, dedication, respect and concentration.

Music Classes

Success in society – Perhaps the basic reason that every child must have an education in music is that music is a part of the fabric of our Jamaican society. Any music teacher or parent of a music student can call to mind anecdotes about the effectiveness of music study, helping children become better students. Skills are learned through the discipline of music, these stories commonly point out, transfer to study skills, communication skills, and cognitive skills useful in every part of the curriculum. Participation in music as education during the formative school years brings countless benefits to each individual throughout life. The benefits may be psychological, spiritual or physical.

Karate

In contrast to what is often portrayed in the movies, Karate is not just for fighting. Many people take it up for the fitness benefits. Training in Karate improves cardiovascular fitness, as well as toning the muscular system. Overall power over one’s body increases as the technique teaches you how to use strength effectively. Unlike other forms of physical activity, Martial Arts also has a mental and sometimes spiritual element, which not only improves the mind’s focus but also helps in self-control. Control over emotions such as anger and fear is enhanced through training. These particular benefits translate into one of the most effective stress management tools available, giving students a strong advantage in today’s hectic world.
